Genre Mood Board

Different Genre Mood Boards:

Above is a mood board I have made which has different categories, females, males and groups. I found lots of different pictures of popular artists online and put them all together in one place. This was very useful to do as it enabled me to see the difference in genres through the way that they dress and how they put themselves across. For example, artists that are in the pop, R&B genre the females are very sexualised wearing short dresses and makeup which is this genres stereotype. Furthermore, in the male genre the males are stereotypically wearing no clothes which is normally of the pop and R&B genre also.

This has been very helpful for me as it has enabled me to see clear difference between the different genres and what they stereotypically wear and how they promote themselves. I have a lot of pictures of artists from the pop, R&B genre as this is the genre of music that I listen to. However, I made sure to add artists from different genres so that I could compare the difference between all of the genres. One of the key differences for me is that it is clear to the target audience what genre they're from by the way that they dress. I am interested in doing a song from a pop genre so this has been helpful in helping me to see what artists from this genre do.
